Putting Thought Before Emotion

You’ve heard the expression “you catch more flies with honey than vinegar”? Well, your love-based emotional reactions can be categorized as honey and fear-based emotional reactions as vinegar.

If you want to align with the new paradigm and an enlightened perspective, your goal will be to train your energy field to produce more honey as fuel for outcomes than vinegar.

The best way to train yourself into new habits is through repetition. If you are committed and your technique is solid, you will land yourself into new, desired habits. You can do this most effectively by exercising techniques and practices that keep you centered in love regardless of current circumstances.

Putting thought before emotion is part of humanity’s lesson plan in the new era. In the previous era, our lives centered around emotions. It was our spiritual job to examine every aspect of our emotions. We were motivated by our emotions. We set ourselves up to learn most profoundly through messy emotional attachments, complicated feelings, conflict and heart ache, as well as through deep and enduring love. It was a tumultuous era! Though it may not feel like it sometimes, humanity has grown by leaps and bounds as a result.

Now we are entering a new space of learning, and our soul objective is to manage what we create using our thoughts, and that includes calling upon our thoughts to inspire desired emotional reactions. As we discussed in our last post “The Role of Emotions in the New Era”, love-based emotional reactions fuel favorable intended outcomes to the greatest degree. As you step into your role as a creator in the new era, you gain the awareness and ability to manage your thought-process. Your thoughts become blueprints that inspire the production of emotional fuel rather than the reverse, which is what most human beings experienced as the standard in the old paradigm.

Here’s how your energy field works:

Understand that your emotional layer, where emotional energy is generated, sits next to the mental layer of your energy field where you generate thought forms. Your mental layer sits next to your spiritual layer where your beliefs are housed. Each layer communicates with and influences the one next to it.

Your beliefs influence your thoughts. Your thoughts influence the emotional energy fuel you generate, just as your emotions influence your thoughts and your thoughts influence your beliefs. The old paradigm had us focused on our emotions, so our thoughts were typically influenced by our emotions. And then our beliefs were impacted by our thoughts.

It is much more productive and efficient to manage emotions from the top down, which is what we are spiritually scheduled to explore in the new era. It’s completely contrary to the current conditioning of humanity.

Furthermore, it is difficult to change any event manifested by your energy field if you are not aware of how the energetic components fit together to bring that event to fruition. This basic awareness of how the layers of the energy field work together to create the details of your life is the first step toward being able to effectively manage your thoughts to influence the emotional elements of your creation process.

In the new era, an effective method for transitioning a situation into a new or desired outcome is as follows:

  1. Identify your true beliefs related to the situation in question.
  2. Align your thoughts with your beliefs. If you find that they are not aligned, re-think until they are.
  3. Intend for your thoughts to influence your emotional reactions.

This process will steer you away from letting your emotions run the show in an unchecked manner. It may take some effort, as with any new technique, but the more you do it, the more automatic it becomes.

To give a real-life example of how this all works:

Imagine that you are on a plane and there is a kid behind you kicking the seat. Your first reaction is to get irritated. As your anger swells, you are motivated to turn around and demand that the mother make her kid stop. Then the rest of the flight is tense as you stew in your irritation and wait for the kid to kick your seat again. If you are able to catch yourself while you feel your irritation swell in the beginning, you have the opportunity to change that potential outcome. When you catch yourself, you decide to contemplate your beliefs regarding children. You decide that your true belief is that no child is “bad”, but children get bored and do irritating things if they are not redirected. Identifying that belief allows you to generate conscious and favorable thoughts that override the thoughts that inspired you to generate anger. Your favorable conscious thought may be something like this – “that Mom might benefit from a kind stranger helping to keep that kid busy.” You reach into you bag and rip a few pages from your notebook to offer the Mom for the kid. You pull out a pen and turn around to ask if the child would be interested in drawing a picture. The Mom might be very grateful for the help and you’ll feel happy that you have helped. You have also created and fueled a very different outcome by managing the process and disallowing your initial emotional reaction to set your course.

It’s not difficult to influence your emotional reactions and fuel favorable outcomes. It just takes some technical knowledge regarding the function of your energy field and some conscious effort to direct your creation process. Try the technique and see what happens. Afterall, you are a creator!
